How to schedule Tumblr posts to every blog you run
Tumblr rewards blogs that post steadily, and most people who run one also run a side blog or two, and post the same work elsewhere. This is how to schedule Tumblr posts in SPREVA to every blog you write to, with the tags that get them found, alongside the rest of your networks.

The short version
Connect Tumblr once and every blog you write to appears as an account: your main blog, your side blogs and the group blogs you post to. Write the post, add up to 30 images or a video, add your tags, choose who can see it, and schedule it or add it to a queue. SPREVA posts it at that time, with the alt text from your library on every image.
Every blog you write to
Sign in with Tumblr once. Each blog you can post to, your main blog, your side blogs and the group blogs you belong to, becomes an account of its own in SPREVA, so one post can go to one blog or several. A blog you rename keeps publishing; nothing needs to be connected again.
What a post can hold
A Tumblr post from SPREVA can hold:
- Text, as long as a Tumblr post can be.
- A link, shown as a card.
- Up to 30 images in one post, up to 10 MB each.
- One video of up to 10 minutes and 500 MB, as a video post.
Scheduling a post, step by step
- 1
Press New in the sidebar, choose Post, then Text Post, Image Post or Video Post, and pick your Tumblr blogs.
- 2
Write the post and add the images or the video. The alt text you wrote for each image in your library goes with it.
- 3
In the Tumblr settings, add your Tags: type one and press Enter, up to 30.
- 4
Under Who can see this, choose Everyone, or Members only for a post that only people who can already see the blog can read.
- 5
Schedule it, or Add to queue.
Tags are how people find you
On Tumblr, people follow tags as much as blogs, so tags do the work that hashtags do elsewhere:
- Tag what the post is, the subject and the medium, in the words people search for.
- Keep one tag for your own series, so readers can see everything you made in it.
- Choose a few good tags over thirty loose ones: a reader who follows a tag expects that tag's kind of post.
SPREVA's queue, not Tumblr's
Tumblr has its own queue and drafts. SPREVA keeps the schedule itself instead: the post waits in SPREVA and goes out at its time, so it sits in the same calendar and the same queue as your posts to every other network, and a team can see and approve it there before it goes.
One post, Tumblr and elsewhere
The same post can go to Tumblr, Bluesky, Mastodon and Threads at once. Write it once, adapt it to each network, and give Tumblr the long version with its tags in its own tab, while the others get a shorter one. Write one post for every network, then refine each in its own tab.
If Tumblr is slow to answer
Before trying again, SPREVA checks the blog's latest posts for the one it was sending, so a slow answer never becomes a post published twice. A video post is followed while Tumblr prepares it, until it is live.
What comes back
Each post's notes come back into SPREVA, with its likes and reblogs, and each blog's followers. Tumblr does not share views with apps, so the notes are the measure.
Schedule your next Tumblr post
Connect Tumblr, pick the blogs, and queue a week of posts with their tags. Every plan starts with a 7-day trial.
Questions
Can I schedule Tumblr posts?
Yes. Publish now, choose a date and time, or add the post to a queue that fills your next free slot. SPREVA posts it at that time by itself.
Can I post to side blogs and group blogs?
Yes. Every blog you can post to becomes an account of its own when you connect Tumblr.
Can I schedule a private post?
Yes. Choose Members only under Who can see this.
Can SPREVA put a post in my Tumblr queue or drafts?
No. SPREVA keeps the post and publishes it at its time, so your schedule lives in one place for every network.
Can I edit a post after it is published?
Not from SPREVA; edit it on Tumblr. You can delete it from SPREVA.
