How to cut a podcast or a stream into clips for TikTok and Shorts
An hour of conversation has five or six moments that work on their own. This is how to find them, cut each one on whole sentences with captions, and schedule a week of clips, in the app or by asking your AI agent.
The short answer
Upload the episode's video to SPREVA and it writes down what is said. Ask for up to 10 clips and say what to look for; SPREVA suggests the moments, each starting and ending on a whole sentence. Each clip becomes a 9:16 project in your layout, with captions from what is said, and you queue them to post through the week.
Before you start
- The video of the episode or the stream, up to 1 GB. Clips are made from video, so an audio-only episode needs a video of the conversation first, even from one camera.
- A plan with Studio: Pro or Business.
- Not a link: SPREVA does not import from YouTube or Twitch yet. Download the video and upload the file.
Step by step
- 1
Upload the video to Media. What is said is written down as it arrives, so the moments can be found by what happens in them.
- 2
Ask for clips: how many, up to 10, how long, from 3 seconds to 3 minutes, and what to look for, like “the strongest opinion” or “funny reactions”.
- 3
Check the moments. Each comes with a title. Keep, move or drop any of them, and move either edge by the second.
- 4
Make the clips. Each one becomes its own project in your layout, with captions timed to the words and its title as the hook, in a folder for the episode.
- 5
Queue them. Put the clips in a queue and SPREVA posts one at each time you set, to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Reels and LinkedIn.
Layouts for talking and for gaming
Choose how the frame is shared before the clips are made:
- Two people stacked, for a conversation, so both stay in view for the whole clip.
- The facecam on top and the game below, for a stream.
- The game full frame with the face in a corner. Mark the areas once and save it as your layout for the next episode.
From your AI agent
Your agent can do the same through SPREVA: it reads what the video says, sentence by sentence, suggests the moments and makes the clips.
Find the five strongest moments in episode-42.mp4, 30 to 60 seconds each, make them into vertical clips with both of us stacked, and queue them for next week on TikTok and YouTube.
Finding moments changes nothing and spends nothing; making the clips creates one project per moment for you to check before anything is posted. SPREVA for podcasters and for streamers.
Questions
Can I paste a YouTube or Twitch link?
Not yet. Download the video and upload the file: the clips are made from the file in your library.
How long can the video be?
Up to 1 GB per file. For a long stream, export the part you want or upload it in parts.
How many clips can I make at once?
Up to 10 per run, each from 3 seconds to 3 minutes. Run it again on the same video for more.
Can I make clips from an audio-only podcast?
Not yet: clips are made from video. A single camera on the conversation is enough.
Does the crop follow whoever is talking?
No. The layout shows the same areas for the whole clip, so for a conversation a layout with both people in view works best.
Which plan do I need?
Clips from a video are part of Studio, on Pro and Business. Pro includes 120 minutes of exported video a month and Business 400.
