How to schedule Telegram channel posts, from SPREVA's bot or your own
A Telegram channel lives on a rhythm: the morning update, the weekly digest, the announcement at the minute it was promised. This is how to schedule those posts in SPREVA, to a channel or a group, and how to keep them quiet, protected or in the right topic.

The short version
Add SPREVA's bot, or your own, to your channel or group as an administrator allowed to post messages, connect it, then write the message: up to 4,096 characters of text, or up to 10 photos or videos with a caption, or one document. Choose whether it goes out silently, schedule it or add it to a queue, and the bot posts it at that time.
Connecting a channel or a group
Telegram has no sign-in for apps, so a bot does the posting. Choose whose:
- SPREVA's bot. Add it to the channel or group as an administrator allowed to post messages, and put the ownership code SPREVA shows you in the chat's description, so SPREVA knows the chat is yours. You can remove the code once it is connected.
- Your own bot, to post under its name and picture. Create it with @BotFather, make it an administrator of the chat with permission to post, and paste its token in Your own bot token. With your own bot, no code is needed.
Then type the chat's @username or paste its t.me link in Channel or group. A private chat without a username is connected by its numeric ID. Each channel or group is an account of its own, so you can connect as many as you run.
Scheduling a message, step by step
- 1
Connect the channel or group, as above.
- 2
Press New in the sidebar, choose Post, then Text Post, Image Post, Video Post or Document Post, and pick your Telegram chat.
- 3
Write the message. With photos, videos or a document it is a caption, up to 1,024 characters.
- 4
In the Telegram settings, turn on Silent message or Protect content if this message needs them.
- 5
In a group with topics, give the Forum topic ID; leave it at 0 for a normal chat.
- 6
Schedule it, or Add to queue.
What a message can carry
Telegram sets the limits; SPREVA checks every one before the message goes:
- Text alone, up to 4,096 characters, shown exactly as you typed it.
- Up to 10 photos or videos, sent as one album, with a caption of up to 1,024 characters.
- One document, such as a PDF, on its own.
- Files up to 10 MB for a photo and 50 MB for a video or a document.
Silent, protected, in its topic
Four settings shape how a message lands:
- Silent message: delivered without a notification sound. Right for the post at night or the small update between the big ones.
- Protect content: the chat cannot forward or save the message.
- Hide link preview: no preview card under a link, for a text message where the card would get in the way.
- Forum topic ID: in a group with topics, the message goes into that topic instead of General.
When a message cannot go
If the bot is no longer an administrator, has been removed, or the chat cannot be found, the post says so in plain words: make the bot an administrator again or check the chat's name, then retry. Posts to your other accounts go out as planned. When Telegram asks to slow down, SPREVA waits as long as Telegram says and tries again.
One case is different. A bot cannot read back the messages in a chat, so if Telegram never confirms that a message arrived, SPREVA does not send it again by itself: it asks you to check the chat first, so your readers never get it twice.
Telegram can schedule too. Why SPREVA?
Telegram's own app can schedule a message, one chat at a time, from the account that is signed in. SPREVA adds what a channel with a plan needs: a queue that fills your next free time, a calendar of everything that is coming, the same announcement to Telegram, Discord, X and your other accounts in one post, each with its own text under Per account, and a team that can write and approve together. Plan next week's posts
Connect your channel, write next week's posts and add them to a queue, with the late ones silent. Every plan starts with a 7-day trial.
Questions
Can I schedule posts to a Telegram channel?
Yes. Publish now, choose a date and time, or add the post to a queue that fills your next free slot. SPREVA sends it at that time by itself, so nothing has to stay open on your phone or your computer.
Does it work with groups as well as channels?
Yes: channels, groups and supergroups, including a topic in a group with topics. Personal chats are not supported.
Can posts come from my own bot?
Yes. Create a bot with @BotFather, make it an administrator of the chat with permission to post, and paste its token when you connect. Your readers see your bot's name and picture.
Why is my caption limited to 1,024 characters?
Telegram allows 4,096 characters for text on its own, but only 1,024 as the caption of photos, videos or a document. For a longer text, post it without media.
Does SPREVA show the views of a Telegram post?
No. For Telegram, SPREVA shows whether each message went out; the views are on the message in Telegram itself.
